AUBURN -- Tray Matthews was on the receiving end of plenty of wise cracks when he first arrived at Auburn this off-season.

The former Georgia safety who was on the losing end of the Prayer at Jordan-Hare, as Josh Harvey-Clemons tipped Nick Marshall's pass that was caught by Ricardo Louis in Auburn's miraculous 43-38 win last season.

"We've kind of put it behind us know. He's a part of this family," wide out Melvin Ray said. "We just told him we don't tip balls here."

Matthews, who has not been available for interviews, transferred to Auburn after being dismissed from Georgia following his arrest for theft by deception for allegedly double-dipping tuition checks.

The 6-foot-1 192 pound sophomore has been working on the scout team while sitting out this season, per transfer rules.

"He helps out a lot on scout defense," Ray said. "He's a great athlete. He gives us great looks. It's fun going up against him because we just faced him last year. He's a fun guy to play against."
