19-year-old killed in Saturday shooting

A 19-year-old male was killed in a shooting Saturday night in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Police Department initiated a homicide investigation Sunday into the death of Zhivago Hines, 19, of Montgomery after he died from his injuries.

Police and medics responded at about 11 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Clinton Street after receiving a call that someone had been shot. Upon arriving, first responders located Hines, who was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Capt. Zedrick Dean, a spokesperson for MPD.

Hines later was pronounced dead.

"The circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting are under investigation, and no arrests have been made," Dean said.
