PRATTVILLE- A Prattville man has been charged in the Friday morning shooting of a woman who was left outside for several hours.

The female victim was listed in "stable but critical" condition Friday afternoon at Baptist Medical Center South, said Police Chief Mark Thompson.

The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Simmons Road, Thompson said. It appears the victim was shot once, he said.

Police have charged James Brandon Jordan, 22, of Prattville, with attempted murder in the case, court records show. He was in the Autauga Metro Jail on Friday afternoon under a bond of $60,000, jail records show.

He could not be reached for comment and court records show he doesn't have an attorney.

The shooting appears to be related to a case of domestic violence, the chief said. Police received a call about the shooting about 7 a.m. Friday. But the investigation shows that the shooting likely occurred about 1 a.m. Friday, and the victim was left outside for several hours before the shooting was reported, Thompson said.
