AUBURN -- Gus Malzahn took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Wednesday.

The Auburn coach received numerous challenges, including from his good friend, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze, Waffle House CEO Walt Ehmer and Auburn tight end C.J. Uzomah, before formally accepting the challenge from Freeze.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has swept the nation as social media movement to help raise awareness for and benefit the ALS Association fight Lou Gehrig's Disease. Over the last three weeks, more than $31 million has been donated to the ALS Association, according to a report by NBC News.

Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall and tight end Brandon Fulse had the honor of dousing Malzahn, who was unaware on Tuesday that he had been challenged by a WJOX radio personality.

Malzahn, who nominated his brother, Brooks Ruhman, Jason Dufner and Cam Newton for the Ice Bucket Challenge, becomes the latest member of the Auburn staff to take part in the challenge. Offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, running backs coach Tim Horton, offensive line coach J.B. Grimes, offensive graduate assistant Jonathan Brewer, offensive analyst Bobby Bentley and nearly all the football coaches' wives already having taken part over the last week.

A growing list of Auburn players have also taken part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
