HOOVER -- The dash cam video of Nick Marshall's traffic stop, which resulted in him receiving a citation for possession of marijuana, was released Tuesday.

In the video obtained by Columbus, Georgia CBS affiliate WRBL, Marshall is seen in a tank top and shorts being pulled over in his purple Dodge Charger. Wearing a tank top and shorts, Marshall is handcuffed while officers search the vehicle and discover marijuana during a traffic stop in Reynolds, Georgia on Friday.

The Auburn quarterback was cited for possession of marijuana and for an illegal window tint and faces fines of $1,100.

His court date is set for 10 a.m. ET Sept. 10 but it won't need to report if he pays the fine.

Marshall was replaced at SEC Media Days by tight end C.J. Uzomahand Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said his returning starter will "suffer the consequences" of the incident.

It's unclear what the punishment will be for Marshall, who is widely considered a Heisman Trophy candidate after throwing for 1,976 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushing for 1,068 yards and 12 scores for the Tigers last season.

His misstep may open the door for Jeremy Johnson to start in the season opener against Arkansas on Aug. 30.
