St. Louis Rams and former Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson (79) defends against New Orleans Saints defensive end Glenn Foster.

INDIANAPOLIS -- After starting his pro career at guard, Greg Robinson will spend his days at left tackle for the foreseeable future.

St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead said the club is committed to Robinson playing at the most important position on the offensive line.

"One of the reasons we took Greg is we knew that he's got a future home at left tackle," Snead said. "But at the point in time Jake (Long) was healthy so we were going to put him at guard because he was one of our best five and we thought that would only help him evolve as he adjusted to our NFL game. At this point in time yes, he will stay at left tackle and go from there."

Last year's No. 2 pick, the highest ever by an Auburn offensive lineman in the NFL Draft, appeared in all 16 games with 12 starts as a rookie.
