Auburn and Kentucky will play on Thursday Oct. 15, 2015.

AUBURN – Auburn's trip to Lexington next season will be a Thursday night game, the first home Thursday game in Kentucky program history.

The Tigers and Wildcats will play on Oct. 15, the SEC announced in its release of the conference's 2015 football schedule on Tuesday. Auburn holds a 25-6-1 all-time lead in the series, with a 37-34 win in 2010's game in Lexington.

Auburn will open the 2015 season with five straight games, beginning with the Chick-fil-A Kickoff against Louisville at the Georgia Dome on Sept. 5, followed by Jacksonville State (Sept. 12), at LSU (Sept. 19), Mississippi State (Sept. 26) and San Jose State (Oct. 3)

The Tigers come off an Oct. 10 open date with seven straight games, including three straight home games, to close the regular season.

Auburn plays at Kentucky on Oct. 15, at Arkansas (Oct. 24), Ole Miss (Oct. 31), at Texas A&M (Nov. 7), Georgia (Nov. 14), Idaho (Nov. 21) and Alabama on Nov. 28.

Ricardo Louis caught Nick Marshall's Hail Mary pass on fourth down for a touchdown to give the Tigers a 43-38 win against Georgia.

The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry will be played at its customary time in November of 2015, though it may move earlier in the season in years to come.

Auburn will host Georgia in what will be the 118th meeting in the series on Nov. 14, 2015, the SEC announced Monday night in the release of the conference's full 2015 football schedule.

The longtime rivals have discussed moving the game up on the calendar in order to prevent each from having multiple road games at their respective traditional rivals at the end of the regular season every other year. Auburn travels to Georgia and Alabama in even-numbered years while Georgia travels to the Plains and Georgia Tech in odd-numbered years.
