AUBURN -- Former New Mexico State guard K.C. Ross-Miller has committed to transfer to Auburn, where he will be eligible to play immediately, a source confirmed Monday night.

ESPN was the first to report Ross-Miller, who averaged 8.3 points and 3.5 assists for the Aggies last season and led the squad in free-throw percentage (82) while making 29 starts in 30 games, was joining Bruce Pearl's squad.

A 6-foot-1 175 pound guard, Ross-Miller will will provide immediate help to an Auburn backcourt that returns starters Tahj Shamsid-Deen and K.T. Harrell. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Ross-Miller was suspended for two games by the WAC following an altercation at the end of NMSU's game at Utah Valley on Feb. 27 during which he threw the ball at a Utah Valley player after the game was over.

NMSU coach Marvin Menzies said it was an "embarrassing" incident after a "heated" game.

"If any of my guys did anything that was out of line they will be punished to the tenth degree and they may affect wins and losses but they need to learn some life lessons after something like that," Menzies said. "That is not going to happen in my program and it's just embarrassing."

Ross-Miller did not appear in any of the Aggies' remaining four games after his suspension, including their first-round NCAA Tournament game against San Diego State.

He averaged 5.3 points and 2.3 assists in 30 games, with 26 starts, during his sophomore season at NMSU.

Ross-Miller becomes the second Auburn commitment since Bruce Pearl's arrival on the Plains, joining junior college forward Cinmeon Bowers, who committed last month but has still not been announced as a signee.

Bowers tweeted he'll be on campus in July.

Should both Ross-Miller and Bowers successfully join the program the Tigers will have four newcomers, along with early signees Sam Logwood and Jack Purchase.

A former Kentucky commit, Ross-Miller failed to qualify and began his college career in New Orleans in 2010-11, where he averaged 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 11 games.
