HOOVER -- Nick Marshall will not be attending SEC Media Days, Auburn announced Sunday night.

Tight end C.J. Uzomah, who was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List, will take his place and serve on Auburn's contingent with Reese Dismukes and Gabe Wright, who were named to preseason award Watch Lists as well.

Marshall was cited for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in Reynolds, Georgia, on Friday. He was not arrested.

In a statement, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said he was "very disappointed" in Marshall.

The Rochelle, Ga., native is in line to be the first returning quarterback for Malzahn in his eight years coaching at the college level.

No date has been set for when Marshall will address the media regarding his run-in with law enforcement.
