AUBURN -- Jay Prosch is off to lay blocks in the AFC South.

The former Auburn H-back was selected by the Houston Texans with the 211th overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

The 6-foot 254 pound Prosch was a major part of Auburn's national-best rushing attack last season, helping plow the road for Tre Mason.

Despite not being invited to the NFL Combine, Prosch was the first fullback drafted.

Renowned for his strength, Prosch did 27 bench press reps during Auburn's Pro Day.

The Mobile native is the first Auburn fullback drafted since Heath Evans in 2011.

He is the third Auburn offensive player selected this year, the most for the Tigers since 2006, and fourth overall, matching Auburn's showing in 2011.
