H-back Ricky Parks 'will not be back'

DESTIN, Fla. -- The attempted return of H-back/tight end Ricky Parks to good standing with the Auburn football program has been terminated.

"He will not be back," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said before making a Tiger Trek stop in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on Tuesday.

Parks, a 6-foot-3 268-pound sophomore, returned to Auburn in the spring as a walk-on after leaving the program for undisclosed reasons at the start of fall camp last August and spent last season at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

A Hogansville, Georgia native, Parks worked at H-back during spring practice and prior to his departure. He was a candidate to play the position vacated by Jay Prosch's move to the NFL, but the coaching staff consistently cautioned he had off-the-field issues to resolve during the spring.

"Ricky is just trying to handle Ricky's business," offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee said ealy during spring practice. "He's out there every day and he's getting work. We'll see how that plays out."

Auburn has Brandon Fulse set to be the starting H-back in the fall with Gage Batten and C.J Uzomah also in the mix.

It is unclear what Parks' plans are moving forward.
