Prattville police continue to investigate an incident where shoppers waiting in line for the release of a new Air Jordan basketball shoe were robbed at gunpoint by multiple assailants at on July 4 at 3 a.m.

The victims, who were waiting in line in front of the Hiibbett Sports store at 2736 Legends Parkway, described a gold- or tan-colored car similar to a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry carrying four or five unidentified males driving up to where they were standing, according to Tony Garrett, director of CrimeStoppers.

Four of the suspects, who were armed with pistols, got out of the vehicle and began taking money, phones and clothes from the victims. They then returned to the car and fled toward Interstate 65. Only two of the males covered their faces with masks, Garrett said.

Investigators believe a second vehicle may have been involved. Video surveillance captured a gold or tan colored SUV, possibly a Toyota Sequoia, speeding away moments after the robbery.

If anyone can identify or know the whereabouts of these subjects, they are asked to please call the police immediately or Crime Stoppers at 215-STOP. Tips may lead to a Cash Reward.
