Tre Mason denied a report stating he needs wrist surgery after the NFL Draft.

AUBURN -- Tre Mason came out on the offensive this morning, quickly denying a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport that his wrist required surgery.

Mason played with an ankle sprain for most of last season and with the wrist injury for the Iron Bowl, his record-setting performance in the SEC Championship and the BCS title game. It did not stop him from posting three of his best performances in those games, including 46 carries for 304 yards and four touchdowns against Missouri.

During the NFL Scouting Combine in February, Mason said his wrist was "not really that bad."

Mason broke Auburn's single-season rushing record during his 195-yard outing the BCS National Championship, topping Bo Jackson's record and finished the season with 1,816 yards and 23 rushing touchdowns.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. projects Mason to be a third-round pick in this year's draft, which is two weeks away.
