Former Auburn H-back Jay Prosch brings toughness to Houston Texans offense.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Jay Prosch's contributions in the NFL are similar to those during his days at Auburn: measured in impact and collisions, not in yards.

Prosch had just one catch for 24 yards and was credited with three tackles in his rookie season with the Houston Texans.

"He probably won't appear in too many box scores unless they start making stats for good lead blocks," Houston coach Bill O'Brien said. "He's basically like a guard in the backfield."

The former Auburn H-back was the first of only three fullbacks drafted last year. The others, Kiero Small and Trey Millard, did not have nearly the same contributions to their clubs as Prosch.

"He did a good job. He improved. He practiced hard every day. He's a good teammate," O'Brien said. "I really enjoy coaching him. He got better and better and he added some toughness to our offense and we need to continue to use him and help him improve."
