AUBURN -- Justin Garrett, the breakout performer of spring practice in 2013 and a top performer this time a year ago, suffered yet another injury and could miss the remainder of spring practice.

"He had a high ankle sprain two weeks ago and that's a hard one to come back from," outside linebackers coach Lance Thompson said. "Before Justin got hurt we had kind of dual trained him (at Buck and weakside linebacker); there's a lot of dual training going on because of some of the injuries we had."

The 6-foot-1 228 pound Garrett was expected to backup fellow seniors Kris Frost and Cassanova McKinzy and was off to a good start in the eyes of defensive coordinator Will Muschamp.

A tailor made player for the "star" position in Ellis Johnson's defense, Garrett encountered his first setback in Aug. 2013, when a foot injury sidelined him to start the season, then a second foot injury ended his season early.

Garrett had 17 tackles and four hurries last season.
