Lee boys still the 1; JD, Evangel girls 2nd
The Robert E. Lee boys are No. 1 and the Jeff Davis and Evangel Christian girls are No. 2 in the season's final high school basketball rankings.
The Generals (24-2) stayed atop Class 7A for a second straight week, though they needed overtime to quash Jeff Davis last week. Lee faces G.W. Carver, which is ranked fifth in 6A, on Friday at Faulkner.
The Vols (23-4) remained behind Huntsville in 7A. JD has won 13 of its last 14 games heading into Friday's home game with winless Sidney Lanier.
In the AISA, the Lions (25-2) trail just Glenwood. The Gators (22-3) beat Evangel in the season opener and are the only in-state team to do so this year.
Evangel plays Edgewood on Friday in the Class AA, Region 1 semifinals at Macon-East.
The AHSAA playoffs begin next week.
