Former Georgia running back Todd Gurley tore his ACL against Auburn but does not regret returning to play.

INDIANAPOLIS --

Despite suffering a torn left ACL in his return to the field against Auburn, former Georgia running back

Todd Gurley

does not regret coming back to play following his four-game NCAA suspension.

"I did it because I love football," Gurley said. "That's what I do. I played football my whole life. Injuries come with the game and I wouldn't take that game back for nothing."

Georgia doubled Gurley's loss of value insurance policy to $10 million prior to his return.

Gurley ran for 138 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Bulldogs to a 34-7 dismantling of the Tigers on Nov. 15 but was injured during the fourth quarter of the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.

"I was a little bit worried, definitely," Gurley said. "It's kind of sad but at the end of the day I had to be positive about the injury and move on and let this motivate me to get back and take all the anger out when I get back."

Gurley is aiming to be the top running back selected in this year's draft with Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon as the other top back in a deep class.

Though he can't take part in work outs at the Combine, Gurley said he is meeting with 24 teams this week.

As for his accepting of money for autographs that cost him four games, Gurley said he'll take ownership when teams ask about the situation.

"(I will) man up to my mistakes," he said. "I made a dumb mistake and I suffered the consequences. I got to move on from that."
