AUBURN -- Bruce Pearl has added yet another big piece to the Tigers roster.

Four-star center prospect Trayvon Reed, a 7-foot-1 215 pound native of Mobile, committed to Auburn on Thursday, sources confirmed.

CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein was the first to report the addition of Reed, a former Maryland signee, who was arrested in College Park, Maryland on charges of second-degree assault, second degree assault of a police officer, theft under $100 and resisting arrest for allegedly stealing a an ice cream bar and candy from a 7-11 convenience store. Maryland denied his enrollment following the incident.

Reed will attend Elev-8 Prep (Florida) this fall, and as long as he meets requirements, will be eligible to play following Auburn's fall semester finals in December, according to a source.

Trayvon Reed, shown here playing for G.W. Carver High School in 2010-11, re-enrolled at Auburn this semester after leaving the program for "personal reasons". Reed won't play or practice with the team for the 2015-16 season.

Reed played for G.W. Carver in 2010-11 before moving to Snellville, Georgia.

He went to Life Center Academy (New Jersey) for his senior season and averaged 12.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.5 blocks per game.

Reed is the fourth player to commit to Auburn in a week, joining forwards Danjel Purifoy and Horace Spencer and junior college guard T.J. Dunans.

Auburn is at the scholarship limit, meaning someone will have to come off scholarship after the fall semester once Reed arrives.
